Innocences Upright-Tarot Card For October 24, 2014

Innocences Upright-Description Of the Card: The start of a great journey. New ventures and risks. Innocence that allows one to be open to possibilities, and protects from difficulties. Facing fears. Trusting your heart. Optimism. Feeling protected by divine forces. (Description By ~Kris Waldherr~)

Innocences Upright-Interpretation Of The Card: Because it is unnumbered, The Innocences Upright can be read as the first or the last card of the Major Arcana. As the first card, it acts as a preliminary to the cycle of cards that starts with The Magician, and therefore has strong associations with childhood and new beginnings. The Innocence Upright has a fresh-faced optimism and sense of wonder are coupled with a fearlessness and naivety. It is said that “Innocences rush in where angels fear to tread” and this is precisely the case with this card. However, it is the innocence of his carelessness that protects him. The Innocence’s head is in the clouds, the Sun is in his eyes, and his mind is full of dreams, so he doesn’t notice the pitfalls and dangers around him – and, in turn, they don’t notice him.

When the Innocences Upright appears, there is a new road to travel. You might not know where it will lead you, but the prospect of the journey is exciting and the potential for fun is endless. Of course, you will learn along the way and will turn innocence into experience, yet the adventure will be worth every trial and mishap. Go forward with confidence, because now is your time to discover the wonderful eccentricities of the universe. If this card turns up in a position in a reading that represents another person, then prepare to encounter one of the oddest, most eccentric, and totally original individuals that you have ever met.

If this card appears as the first one in a reading, then you must exercise caution. Medieval Italian tradition suggests that if the Innocences Upright is the first one out of the pack, then the question that you are asking is probably the wrong one. It may be that you are asking it for the wrong reasons or that you are mistaken in your initial assumptions. (Interpretation By ~Jonathan Dee~)

When I read for my client’s and this card shows up in a reading, I usually issue a kind warning to them to be careful and consider their next action carefully. This card gives me pause, as this individual may be so enamored with the thought of the adventure that they fail to see that they may be walking straight into trouble and hardship. Not only are they walking into trouble and hardship, but they are completely unaware and unprepared to deal with the consequences that will manifest in the future. There can be great losses, heartache, worry and anxiety connected with the outcome of this card. Go ahead and have your adventure and enjoy it. But, do some homework before you take that leap of faith into the unknown. Prepare yourself for what may come up as a problem. It is always better to look before you leap! There could be a brick wall that you will leap into on the other side of that hill and some very real hardships to deal with as well. Forewarned is Forearmed!
